Hospitalized. Thank you
I was recently hospitalized (still am actually) and all that I had with me in the waiting room, ER, and the first little bit of my hospitalization was my iPod. So I had my Bible, my commentaries, and many of my books with me the whole time helping to direct my thoughts rightly toward God. I only had intermittent internet connections, just enough to download the books for offline reading I knew that I'd want. So thank you so much for developing the iPod app.

Jacob,
I'm sorry to hear you are in the hospital -- I will pray for you.
I enjoy your contributions to these forums. I started reading Simeon's Horae Homileticae based on your endorsement a month or so back. It is wonderful and thought provoking. In case you are not aware, it is available on the iPod.
Regards,
Scott

Thank you, all. Just had a bone marrow biopsy. They're suspecting lymphoma.
It's good to know that there is not a single cancer cell in my body (or any cell anywhere) that doesn't obey my Father. So I know that this will work out for good, and I know that it is best. Thanks for your praying; and thank you Logos for a portable library. I'm here on my netbook able to read, and I was even able to take my iPod with my to my biopsy and have my Bible immediately available right there.

Oh, Jacob. I'm glad to hear you are in such good spirits about the news. I pray that they're wrong, but if you do have to go through treatment for cancer, I pray for strength and endurance for you, peace and hope for your family, wisdom and skill and success for the doctors, and God to be glorified throughout by your testimony and your positive attitude, and that he would soon make it clear how he means this for good in the long run... Blessings, and keep us posted.

God, Please guide Jacob's doctors; grant him peace of mind as you fulfill your purpose--thank you for providing him access to your Word during this challenging trial, and ask that through it you reveal your will. I plea for you to restore his health.

Praise God! I'm glad you got it and have found it beneficial. The more I read of Simeon, the more I generally appreciate his pastoral insight to the text.

Jacob,
What a testimony to God!
Many say things like this when it's not real, and things are good but God has given you the strength to worship during difficult times.
Brother, you have blessed me with your attitude.

Jacob, I will pray for you, and you are on the prayer list in the bulletin, so others praying also.
I read this thread this morning before church, and was preaching from Psalm 46, and I used your quote about cancer cells obeying God, it just showed how well you understand and live by Psalm 46:10 (ESV) 10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” I admire your faith.

Biopsy results back today. No cancer! So we don't know what's causing the nodules on the lungs or the super-low platelets and bleeding; but very good to know it's not cancer. THank you all for your prayers and encouragement. I am grateful to God for this trial and for what looks like is the preliminary outcome.

Praise God for one good report. However we still are praying until every question is favorably resolved.

That is wonderful news, Jacob. Continuing to pray for answers in what is causing the symptoms, that you might be relieved of them soon.

Hey, Jacob
I've been following some of your comments and help on other posts, and wondering how your health is doing and what the follow up studies showed. Many of us have been praying for you.
(And then, duh, I saw that GraceBible had a Tempe address and I looked it up. I, too, became a Christian at Arizona State, outside the MU, in March of 1972! And Scott & Kim Maxwell are dear friends who have had a huge impact on our family. Please greet them from Lucy and me, here in France.)
Blessings, brother.

Tom, Wow! small world. I'm actually back in the hospital with continued problems. Going to be having a video assisted lung biopsy done tomorrow to try to figure out what the cause of all this is.
I'll send Scott an email and tell him you said "hi"

Sorry to hear you're back in the hospital, Jacob. But wow, cool, video assisted lung biopsy. What amazing technology we have now! I pray that it will be helpful in finding the cause and will not feel impersonal/intrusive/painful, all those things medical technology can sometimes be. (My dad got to watch his angioplasty on a video monitor while it was taking place and said it was cool.)
