Installing DVD on secondary computer causes reindexing on primary computer

I began installing the DVD on my second computer.  I was excited to see that it auto-synched and read in the menu icons and layouts from v4 on my primary computer.  I didn't know it would do that.  It was especially strange, since I'm sure I did not have v4 running on my primary computer at the time.  So I'm not sure how this happened.

Next I opened v4 on my primary computer and was shocked to find that it began preparing my library for the three-stage reindexing process again!  It took my all day and all night before, and now it 's starting all over again.  Somehow installing the DVD version on my secondary maching caused the reindexing of the primary machine.

Now I can't run anything for another 24 hours!

I'm not sure what happened but primary computer stopped "preparing my library" after a few minutes, and everything seems to be back to normal.  Furthermore, my secondary appears to have stopped indexing with with "1860 resources remaining".  However, all the resources seem to be present.  It seems like the secondary computer synched the index with the primary, but the icon in the task bar indicates it's not done indexing.

So in the end, it seems the DVD was flawless, except it was confusing to follow that the auto-synch was doing, and the task bar icon shows it's hung on indexing even though it seems to be complete from the synch.

Well I was wrong about the secondary computer getting the index files from the auto synch from my primary computer.  After a very long time it started indexing again.  It finished after about 4 hours total.  This was very fast, perhaps because it's a Vista 64 machine and my primary was an XP machine.

Logos v4 took over 16GB of my Hard Drive space!

The sync'ing happens because all of that information resides on the server and your other computer doesn't have to be on to retrieve that stuff, cool huh?
