I have to think that I'm missing something very basic. I was trying to show my wife how she could use Logos to do a word study (on the word 'righteous'), but words like 'righteousness' were also being included under the basic bible search window. Confirming with Logos' guide on searching, I tried "righteous -righteousness" or "righteous ANDNOT righteousness", and I get zero results. If I search (as the searching guide demos) for "love -neighbor", I get exactly what I expect: all verses that use the word 'love' excluding those that contain 'neighbor.' But as far as I can tell the ANDNOT function does not work if the second word contains a form of the first word (another example would be "love -loved"). This occurs both with Logos 6 (my computer) and Logos 4 (her computer).
Does anyone know how I could limit a search to exactly the word I want (and no longer forms) in the basic search window? I also tried adding a space to the word, but that did not yield any different results.
Thank you in advance.
