Unable to put footnote automatically at bottom of the page

HELP --  I am largely at a loss with electronics, including some nuances of Logos.  When Logos 6 was first released, I could not get the new edition to create a footnote, after copying from a commentary and placing the copied material onto a hand-out which I was preparing for a course.  Now, there is a footnote that "automatically" comes with the copied quotation, but it is at the end of the quotation or quoted paragraph ... not at the bottom of the page where a footnote should be.

Someone please tell me what to change in some setting so that the footnote, or attribution of intellectual property, goes at the bottom of the page, as it did in Logos 5.

MANY thanks,

Jim Papen

What program are you pasting your copied material in?

Edit: Sorry, I missed that you were working with handouts.
