What is crossgrade upgrade exactly?

Is it simply where say I have Logos 6 now, when Logos 7 comes out if I want all the new features that are in Logos 7  I need to do a crossgrade?

And if that is correct, then when Logos 7 comes out if I just update to the free Logos 7 core engine, what exactly does that do for me or why would I need to?  Meaning could I just stay at Logos 6 and enjoy all the functionality of 6?

Sorry.. Kind of confused on this and how it works and want to know what my options are ahead of time.

It is probable that something similar will work in Logos 7 (although that is speculation)

Yes - that would (in the case of the Logos 6 release) have resulted in someone staying on Logos 5.

A couple of things to think about on that:

• There were new features even in the free engine upgrade (which was made available a few months after the launch) and that is where bug fixes will be focused (in fact, Logos 5 is no longer supported)
• Sometimes new resources need the latest engine so won't work on earlier versions

There is always that option, but it is really only for people who don't like to update. The "big number" updates (L5 to L6 to L7) do bring bigger changes than the incremental ones (6.0 to 6.1 to 6.2), but the changes are really a difference in scale, not in kind. At some point, FL will likely implement a HUGE change, but L4 to L5 to L6 the changes aren't dramatic, and it is still the same underlying engine. 

In other words, there isn't a reason NOT to update from L5 to L6 if you were making the incremental updates all along. Why not keep updating the engine? It is the same thing, just with enhancements.
