New Updated WBC Pricing
I am so glad I purchased the Word Biblical Commentary set in September. 
The updated pricing from the publisher is twice that amount now. It seems that this is going to kill sales going forward ...

At least they gave lots of warning to us that this was going to happen. I just fee for those who missed out and will have to pay the new price.

In all fairness, considering the price of most of the other commentary sets vs. value, the new price is still not unreasonable (not that anyone here said that it is), but I sure am glad I got it at the lower price!

I am glad as well. I 1st got the set through a Thomas Nelson bundle back in the L4 days, and my dynamic cost for completing the set was very good. So good, that my son gifted it to me. [:)]
It would be very nice if the dynamic pricing would continue for all Zondervan bundles even though the sale is gone. Actually, the WBC volumes are back to their normal pre-sale cost. I don't see any extreme price hikes. If the set ever goes on sale again, it will probably be for the $599 or $699 as usual.

Again, I know that the price is considerably higher than it was before, but compared to other commentary set prices, WBC is still one of the better deals. I think it is more a function of the previous price being extraordinarily low for what was being offered. I am glad I got it many moons ago for about half of what it is now!

I agree that the previous price was very low for what was being offered - compared to the price of other commentary sets. I too am very grateful to have gotten it for even cheaper than the recent September price, and the new price no doubt put it out of reach for many now. However, if the WBC were a new set that we had not seen before and the price was set, then we would likely view $1200 as very fair for a set of that caliber. I paid around that much for the set in print back in 1994 (the voiumes that were available at that time).
