Word List Sections Too Slow to Use

I have been trying to make a word list to use with the flash card app. I'm on a mac which is very high spec and everything else in Logos is snappy but when I try to assign a lemma to a section I get a 30sec delay. It is only possible to do this one lemma at a time which will take me roughly 17hrs to complete for words down to 5x freq in NT or 10x freq in OT.
Could we have an option to select multiple lemmas and assign to a group at the same time in a word list?
Thanks!

I may well be wrong in my understanding of what you are attempting, but it seems to me that you might be trying to reinvent the wheel. Logos does have a resource which lists words by frequency which I think may be what you are trying to create.

I'm aware of these resources, the issue is that by making a word list I can use it with the faithlife flashcards app. By making the list myself rather than one of the pre-made lists I can use lemmas which include the audio.
The word list document type is there to be used but the sections feature is too slow to be workable.

There are pre-made lists with audio (join Faithlife group Word Lists for Flashcards as a member and look into the documents tab) and maybe they can be joined with a list containing chapters you like.
I see roughly the same time delay as you regarding editing the Section field for one row - there is the possibility of importing a list with lemmas from Excel, but this needs further processing to add the audio.

Yeah thanks Mick, it's the same problem though. If they have audio then they don't have sections vs if they have sections then they don't have audio. I'd like to make and share a set with both because it would be far more manageable. The problem is that I can't sit for that many hours to do it. I think the sections should be assignable to a group of highlighted rows.
I'd like to select 20 words then right click and choose assign to group and then type a chapter name in a text box. Then all those words should be updated without delay.

- that is, if I use a large list like "Entire NT (NA28) with audio", whereas using a small list of near ten entries, editing the Section will be carried out almost instantly. So you might opt for smaller lists - but then filling the Section fields at all becomes irrelevant, if your lists are section 1, section 2, section 3...NB.Mick said:I see roughly the same time delay as you regarding editing the Section field for one row -

Couple of things
John Goodman said:I try to assign a lemma to a section I get a 30sec delay.
When I try and add a lemma it is very quick - maybe there is some issue with the Mac version.
What version of Logos 6 SW are you running? Can you outline the steps you are following?

A potential workround - if you have the lemmas of interest in a separate document you can copy them all into the clipboard and then use "Add from clipboard" in the Word List. Does that help at all?

Adding a lemma is quick but it will have an empty section field. In the Faithlife flashcard app you can choose a section to study eg. chapter of a book or in my case a group of words based on frequency of occurrence.
This focused study is what makes the flashcard app workable. Without it the group of words is way too big. The only present workaround is to have a separate list of words which only has 20 words in for today's learning.
This is definitely an intended feature which does not work properly because of the speed problem.
My Logos version is Logos Bible Software 6.6 SR-1 6.6.0.0059
Even if it is sped up for entering a section name it is not really adequate to be able to enter one at a time. It needs to be a group. Who has time to sit and enter in 2000 names into a spreadsheet when actually there are only 20 separate names to enter. That is why spreadsheets have user interface functions for altering multiple boxes at once or in sequence etc.
Hope that makes sense?

some do have both - Iike Mike Meiser's list "A New Testament Greek Primer (S. M. Baugh)" which he shared with group Introductory Grammar Vocabulary Lists

oh nice... still they should try to fix it...

On my Windows PC, assigning a lemma to a section is almost instant.
I would imagine that if you have a very large lemma list, and you are sorting or grouping by section then it might be much slower. Is that the problem?

I was having the same issue--the word list was slow and crashing. I opened the same word list in a floating panel, and now it's way faster. You might try that.
