Excellent article. I especially like what he said under the warning of "Dependence." It is easy to grow independent of the Holy Spirit for understanding the text when I have a whole treasure trove of reference books at my disposal (my paraphrase and application). Reminds me how easy it is to quit praying for my daily bread when I know there will be a refrigerator full of food when I want to eat a meal. A very real danger of living in an affluent nation. Used the wrong way and my blessing of Logos can become my curse. Something I have to fight everyday.
