TIP of the day: Maintaining a simple Verbum/Logos library with less noise

This is simply one method of handling one's large collections such as Perseus and Text Creation Partnership collections.

1. Define a basic Verbum/Logos library which contains:

• all Logos edition volumes that are not part of the Perseus or Text Creation Partnership collections.
• only those personal books and Vyrso volumes that are explicitly marked for inclusion
• only those Perseus or Text Creation Partnership works that are explicitly marked for inclusion

These rules make sense for me in that many of my personal books are logic or Buddhist and therefore rarely useful in my Guides and Searches. And much of my Vyrso resources are "casual reads" not needed in my Guides and Searches. Note these resources are still available should I have reason to check them.

2. I add a mytag of "include" to resources in the excluded collections that I know are useful e.g. items with psalter, sermon, Bible, liturgy, worship etc. in their title or subject ... or individual works that I deem useful.

3. I can scan what I have explicitly included by a sort or a filter on the library. Note that with all resources my library exceeds 40,000 items.

4. My library window is limited to the collection Basic Verbum/Logos library as are many searches. This makes a working library of about 7,700 items, considerably less than my full library without the hassle of hiding resources or major tagging. And I fine tune it by adding or deleting mytag "include" which is not hard.
