Logos Payment Plans

More of a curious question rather than anything else. I have one more payment left on my Payment Plan (Praise the Lord), and I decided to go back and view my history of payments a little more closely and realized that I have been making payments on my plan since January 2013. During that time, I upgraded to Logos 6 and added some collections and books to my library which resulted in me extending my plan on a few separate occasions, but almost 3 years of paying on a plan is a really long time (to me it is anyways). I knew I had been paying on my plan for a pretty long time, but it didn't sink in just how long I had been paying on it until just a few days ago. Is 3 years somewhat on the high side of how long you guys have paid on your plans? Low side? In the middle?

*And before anyone takes this post as me negatively talking about Logos, it is far from that. I am thankful for the company and the product I received in exchange for the money I paid. I was just wanting to gauge the Logos community and read your experiences about the length of payment plans.*

I have been on a plan continuously since September of 2011, and I have added 27 additional purchases to it over that time period [+o(]. I might need to start taking medication again [:P].

27 month plan for me.. And I don't plan any upgrades to Logos 7 until after my 27 months is over.. Then will crossgrade.

I will(and already have) be adding things here and there along the way but purchasing outright and not adding to my existing plan..

I could get carried away real quick with all of this so have to plan and stay within my plan..

Also on the plain for the past 10 months, and 14 more to go Yeah!... But without it i would not have access to the library i do.

When Logos 7 does come If i have not put anything aside, I will wait for the free engine upgrade. I now have 4,522 resources and 116 hidden, so i have a bit of reading to catch-up on.

I totally agree with this statement. I have been much more cautious with adding books/collections to my payment plan in the last 12 months. It was so easy at first to add the items to my existing plan and spread the cost out over several months, but it started getting out of hand.

I'm about ten months in with ten more to go. It is definitely easy for me to let it get out of hand, especially when the sales staff sends emails that really are tempting! I plan on paying off my plan without adding/extending it, but I still do buy a few things outright that catch my interest. However, I have a feeling that the Orthodox Base packages are going to be coming out soon... :P

I am beginning to wonder if there will be a Logos 7 since we have the Logos Now subscription based plan. At some point the Faithlife folks must have realized they can sell only so much content to an individual. If I had in cash what my Order History says I have purchased over the past 7-8 years, I could buy myself a nice used automobile.

My Library page shows 3071 resources, so I guess there a few more that I am going to need.[:D] I have the Platinum package, along with several of the Nelson eBible packages. I started with Logos 3 Bible Study Library. Have added several community pricing sets along the way.

The payment plan has certainly contributed to my purchase history. Without the payment plan it would have been much more difficult to purchase 52 of the WBC. $9.99 / ea was too good to pass up.

I've only used a payment plan once but having the option is really appreciated. I'm sure that Faithlife has sold a lot more products because it exists.

Right there with you. I justified all of my expenses because I have academic pricing and I took advantage of some big sales this year since I'm finishing Seminary this year and won't have academic pricing next year. I am so thankful for the books and the ability to put it all on a plan, but it is so easy to get carried away.

International Critical Commentary
New International Greek Testamant Commentary

Pillar New Testament Commentaries
Spurgeon's Sermons
McArthur Lifeworks/NT Commentaries Bundle

I've been on an off them ever since. I usually only take out a Payment plan if a sale is so good that the payment plan fees are significantly outweighed by the savings.

I try and spend roughly a fixed amount on Logos each month. When I'm off payment plans I use Book Cache to save up for purchases and to pay for PrePubs.

I think I am going to have to look more into using Book Cache once my payment plan finishes up. I really like that idea, and it will help me to keep my spending in check.

I have been on a payment plan of one sort or another since Sept 2011.

I started with the Leader's Library (LE) in Logos 4 and now have Logos 6 Baptist Diamond. Along the way I have purchased a lot of the Collections and large commentary sets. To the horror of my wife my actual payments to Logos by the end of my current payment plan will be $14,550.80.

Nope. Faithlife does not sell stock to the public.

The $5 per month fee remains the same no matter what your payment plan balance.

What are you going to do when Logos 7 comes out in a year or so?

Just add it to the payment plan.

Logos is an investment for me. The software is amazing and it is one of the very few pieces of software that I used on a daily basis. It's great to work with an ethical company. The payment plans will keep me coming back.
