Collections from Logos 3

I am beginning to see the advantages of Logos 4. However, prior to my upgrade, I specifically asked - Would my present L3 library be readable. I have some titles that do not come by default in L4.

I was told yes. But I see no place to make this happen. I m speaking of Max Lucado titles and also Oswald Chambers. These are in L4 in part, but not all that I have. Is this a matter of waiting for a conversion?

I don't know if this will be helpful but I was missing a book in L4 that I had in L3. It was BAGD2nd edition. I spent about 2 hours on the phone with tech support and they couldn't figure it out. They tried everything they could. Finally I had to hang up and get on with my day but I decided to uninstall L4 and then a few days latter to reinstall and after I did a full install and a new reinstall the BAGD2nd was there in L4.

I don't know if this is a similar issue or not but if after you try everything else and call support and if it still hasn't solved your problem you might want to try what I did.

As a follow up - does anyone know if the audio files that came with many of these collections are accessible using Logos 4. They were linked from the collection specific "Home" page in Logos 3 and the audio title can often not be easily determined from the compressed file names on the CD. Is there a plan under Logos 4 to perhaps copy the Logos 3 collection audio files to an audio library and have them indexed and readily accessible - Lucado, Frame etc. ?

Although not available from the special "home page" some have reported loading these as MP3's. I have not tried that-to access/hear them I have to run it in L3.

Thanks for responding: I know I can import them as mp3 into iTunes as audiobooks and have them organized that way, just wondering if there were a way to have Logos 4 import, organize and catalogue them as audiobooks, taking advantage of the titles intended by the authors and publishers.

This issue was brought up in the original beta testing. I believe the answer was that at some point Logos would work on integrating the audio.There is nothing about this on Logos' 'missing features' page so it may still be an open question.

There were also some Logos 3 video resources that do not work in 4.0.That issue is scheduled to be resolved in the second quarter of this year. perhaps when that happens the audio-only resources will be dealt with, too.

Hey People...HELP!!

I'm a newbie thats been blessed to have "Porfolio" in L4. But I'm totally lost in trying to organize collections.I looked at the tutorials, but the dont help because I dont understand the use of "AND" or title: or AND/OR ...

1. Whwre can I find info that will assist me in using these(?..dont know their proper name)

2. Is the spacing in these a absolute..often resources diaappear.

3.With over 2400 books, what I have or dont have...in L3 I could do a bibliography and have something to begin with to start collections even if they were out of place,but in L4, I'm in a FOG, standing on my tiptoes and this even more confusing when I see messages telling that I'm being updated but I have no idea of what the update changed,added,or improved

Your first step would be to read http://wiki.logos.com/Collections

Also, spend some time in your Library sorting it by the various fields it has (especially type, if you don't see it, right click on the field headers and you will see a list of all the things you can sort your library by, add a check to whatever you want to see in the Library view.)

If this prompts any specific questions, start a new thread and we will be able to give you some more specific help.

Thanks Kevin,...I'm assuming that when u mention "sorting the library by fields"; that means organizing collection by the "types" listed in the subjects field when I right the field headers. I'll spend some time here browsing,...at least I see how Logos has classified my books.
