If you heard a loud "THUD", it was my jaw dropping and hitting the floor. Wow. I've got 'em all, but this is unreal. This should encourage lots of enthusiastic buying.

Well... that's very very nice.
I have the set but hardly use them. But I love having them in my library tho'. [:D]

I also have them, but a very impressive offer [Y]

From what I see, it's just a very select/limited number of volumes for that price. Is anyone seeing that price across the board?

Only 12 volumes. But $24 for all 12 isn't something to shake a stick at...

If you want to cherry pick, there are three volumes that are newer: Jeremiah (1 and 2) and Ephesians. The others are much older volumes. All that considered, it's hard to beat $2.00 a volume.

For me, I would rather pay the $2 a volume and stack up the dynamic pricing for a future purchase. But, as Mark stated, there are a few volumes that are newer and should be difficult to pass on.

Wow! Wish I could afford the entire series. Wrong time, but at $1.99 a volume, I think I'll go on a campaign and get as many as I can. [:)]

I owned none of the volumes prior to this sale, and according to the product page I now own over $427 to be applied dynamically for a future purchase. Of course, this is just off the ICC. Base packages that include the ICC may be different.

Is anyone able to give me a review of the usefulness of particular volumes in the sale to Catholics?

Be careful when adding the commentary on Luke to your basket. It's not linked correctly, and will add a (not so steeply discounted) Hosea commentary instead.
Luke is still on sale for 1.99 though. You can find it via manual search.

Thanks for the catch, Jan. I've updated the page. Enjoy!

Aw, I would have preferred another discount on the Hosea commentary instead [:P] [;)]

Even though most are older volumes, that is still a great deal. There is a reason those volumes have around so long. If I didn't own the set, I would jump on this deal.

The volume on Ephesians is excellent and this is a steal. The 2 volumes on Jeremiah are less highly regarded and the others on sale for $1.99 are all more than a hundred years old and of questionable value.
I really wish that the three volumes on Matthew and the 2 volumes on Romans were on sale. I'd jump on those without even blinking.

What is the dynamic price difference for the base packages after buying them?
0 -
That very much depends on which base package you wanna purchase, and which other resources you already own.
But as I understand it, the price difference for a base package can't be greater than the price difference for the ICC set before and after purchase, so it should be capped at $427.

Understand the ICC is tagged as a Technical commentary. How would it benefit a lay person without knowledge of the study of an original language?

Does anyone know how long this sale will last?

One who has a strong interest in the original languages, and enough discipline to go through the extra work/study involved to understand what is being said.

I went ahead and used my Chesterton pre-pub credit on these. [:P] With 12 volumes for $13.88, I figure it will be good for linguistic and archaeological insights even if the theology is off.
I'm not familiar with the series, but right off the bat, I noticed that the volume on John's epistles downloads as 5 separate volumes. The reason for that is that it contains some Latin fragments of John (four of them apparently) that Logos separates out to make it easy to compare to other Latin translations (like the Vulgate). Whether or not that's useful to you, you'll have to decide.
If I notice anything else as I go through them, I'll let you know.

If it hadn't have been for the Forums I'd never have known about this sale. Is it like the NIVAC sale that I alerted the Forums to or was it advertised somewhere? I'm signed up for most emails and check the Logis homepage and Blog every day too. Did I miss something or delete something too quickly?

Just bought the Ephesians volume. Was trying to see what information I could find on the Jeremiah volumes, as those are the other recently published volumes. I came across this review and wanted to share it in case it helps others make a decision. One takeaway that was important for me was that the Hebrew text in the commentary is unpointed. That may matter less to others, but I thought it was worth noting.
