Question for anyone with Mounce's BBG (3rd Edition) in Hard Copy

Hi Everyone,

I had a question for someone with Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek (3rd Edition) in hard copy.

I'm in section 21.14 (page 187) and I'm looking at the Master Personal Ending Chart. This is what the chart looks like in my Logos.

However, this particular chart doesn't make any sense to me. I believe the chart should look closer to something like this.

My question is: In the hard copy, does Mounce's chart look like the chart I have in Logos? In other words, is the formatting in my Logos chart messed up or is it like this in the hard copy as well?

Bonus question: If it turns out that it is only messed up in my Logos, is the "Report Typo" the best way to bring this to Logos attention or is there a better way?

I have the 3rd edition in print. Your observation is the same as mine: The one in LOGOS doesn't make sense.

My print copy does not show the parens that you have around the personal endings in your example.

This seems like an important issue to get fixed. Learning Greek is difficult enough when all of the paradigms are clear and correct.

Does anyone know the best way to let Logos know about this formatting error? I don't know if formatting issues are considered a "typo" or not so I don't know if Report Typo is the best option.

I would go with "Report Typo" and explain the issue in the Comments field

I would hope that Logos would make this a priority to fix as this resource is a required text book at Knox Theological Seminary.

Thanks Graham, I'll go ahead and fill in a typo report.

If I'm being completely honest, I don't have a tremendous amount of faith in these typo reports as I've literally sent in hundreds of them and can't recall ever having a resource updated to fix it, but if that's the only way we can get this chart fixed, I'll go ahead and do it.

Perhaps if others with the resource can fill in a typo report as well, it might catch someone's attention quicker? As others have mentioned, this is a pretty important chart to have when learning Greek.

That is a fascinating comment. I've sent in a few, certainly not hundreds, but a few. Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of what I sent, so I have no way of knowing if they were fixed. I do remember one update where I showed an updated done to an obscure resource for which I had reported a typo a few weeks earlier. I assumed it was my own fix, but didn't check it at the time to see.

As of now, I'm going to keep a specific list of locations for which I report typos to see if any, or how many, get fixed.

As for this resource, I'll go and do as you suggest (it'll be my first entry in my new log).

There was a policy published at one point which explained fixes. It seems that there were some which won't get fixed because they match the print edition or something like that? It probably depends on the publisher and license etc. I've seen just one rude one which I hope got fixed;)
