Red Letter Old Testament

Using the Highlighting Tool you can create a Text Red style (see below) in a new Palette. Once that you have created this style, then you could set that Palette to send all your red-lettering highlighting to a Specific note file (e.g. Red Letter NASB).

Below is a screen-shot of my red-lettering for the NASB in Genesis.

i just created a FaithLife group: sclark Red Letter OT

You can go there and look in Documents and get Genesis HL nasb highlighting file and add it to your documents. This gives you an example of how your Red Letter Old Testament would look. Obviously to view this highlighting you will need the New American Standard Bible 1995 in your library. After getting my highlighting file (document) you should be able to go view Genesis in the NASB95 and see the red-lettering (you may need to ensure that in the NASB95 that you have Genesis HL nasb checked in the Visual Filters (3 circle icon)).

Has anyone pulled down my Genesis HL nasb highlighting document and been able to view it in the NASB95?

i am not sure that i have the FL group setup properly (i don't use groups that often). So i would appreciate anyone confirming that it is working!

Steve, I never thought of doing this. Once you suggested I thought how I might go about it.

Now that Speaker Labels are available in Logos, I thought of using that for a search, then applying a Red Foreground highlight style in a Visual Filter based on the search results. It works pretty well.

One advantage of this approach is that it can be applied to any Bible for which we have Speaker Labels.

Well i am still running on a L4 license and don't have the right databases to do this.

Also with your method, it might not highlight added words (those which translators insert for clarity). Also from your screen-shot i see it red-lettered the footnotes.

Don't get me wrong, your suggestion is much easier than my suggested method.

You are right that supplied words do not get highlighted.

I suppose this is a good example of the value of at least one of the L6 datasets. It will allow me to create a red letter OT with minimal effort.

Yes i have L6 (free engine), but don't have the datasets that came with L5 & L6. The cost was kinda steep for me. i am on a limited budget.

Glad you liked it and hope that it will be of future use for you. For me, seeing God's words pop out in the text is especially useful.

Thanks for the idea Steve! I used Mark's method, and in seconds have a Red Letter OT! I will be leaving this filter on always :-)
