Why is the 2nd Basil entry Ep. 8 rather than Ep. 8.6 - it looks as if detail has been lost.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Hi M.J.

Data that ends up in Ancient Literature comes from several different sources and paths; it isn't a simple reverse index of a particular set of resources. In this case, the association between a verse or more in the range Acts 1.6-11 and particular areas in Basil's letters & works could have come from the references you show, references in a different edition of Basil's works (CUA Fathers of the Church, or a freestanding edition), or references to Basil's work in commentaries.

I'll put it on my list of things to look into. Thanks for the report.

Thanks, Rick. And I would hope that when multiple sources are merge, the preference is always for the more specific.
