Highlight Crash

Just upgraded to logos 6 Silver and when I highlight or bold a text in my library it freezes and becomes unresponsive. I have to go to Apple Force Quit and shut it down.

Help very frustrating.

Here is one of the Apple Report Errors I sent, pretty much sums up how I'm feeling.

"Logos 5 kept crashing so I upgraded to logos 6 Silver installed it and now its unresponsive. Very frustrated. Can’t highlight a text with out it freezing up. Synchronizing never ends and indexing takes I don’t know because I have to keep restarting it because it freezes up. Seriously frustrating guys. Look I love this software been using it for 10 years but after the past month of this continual problem I am seriously thinking maybe I should look into a more stable research library."

In order to track down the source of the trouble, you'll need to post your Logos Error Logs. These are different from the standard Apple Report Error. Please follow the link in my signature line for instructions on how to enable logging and post your logs.

Actually, looking at the little bit you posted shows that you are running Logos 5.2 SR 11--are you sure you got upgraded to Logos 6? I saw in your other thread that Graham pointed you to the download location.

You can check by clicking on Logos in the menubar and then clicking "About Logos..."

Yes I upgraded to Logos 6 and the install went well, but I kept experiencing the phenomena of highlighting a text and getting the pinwheel which would take between 3-20 minutes to resolve when I walked away and did nothing. Most times I just restarted because there is no way to know how long each incident takes, then I noticed that my software was "Indexing". So after it was finished I tried highlighting again and the same problem persisted, that is when I realized it was indexing again but stuck at 38% for at least an hour. So I rebooted worked without highlighting and just shut everything off.

Today is a new day and the Lords Mercies are New as well. So I Fired everything back up, NO Indexing this time, but when I bolded one word --- my old friend pinwheel is back. I just have never experienced this before I've been using logos on a daily basis for three years so I'm perplexed.

Yes, it looks like you got a good upload. I am just a Novice at reading these things, but I'm seeing a lot of sync errors. I can't make out what is causing the sync errors, so we'll have to wait for a developer or a more experienced forum member comes along.

I wonder, though, if you worked in offline mode, if the problem would still exist. You can switch to offline mode by holding down on the Command key after clicking on Logos to start it.

Hopefully someone comes along soon who can read your logs better than I. Or, you can call Tech Support.

I was able to get the highlight feature to work while in Offline mode. Thanks. Just tried it again "online" and the same thing keeps happening. [:(]
