I have far more commentaries than are being shown in my search.  This is a new installation.  I have Logos 6 - Reformed Edition.  When will all of them appear in a passage search?

Also --- the category never shows up in a search.  I have to click ADD and then commentaries (which puts them at the bottom of the passage guide window.  I would like them to be at the top of the passage guide window.

Thanks.

    I have Logos 6 - Reformed Edition.

That isn't particularly helpful since you didn't tell us which package you actually own! There are 7 different "reformed" packages, ranging from "starter" which doesn't have but two commentaries to "platinum" which has more than I can count. (I can't count very high. [:P])

Have you allowed the installation time to download all your resources and index them?

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you post a screen shot?

We'll help you get it figured out. [:)]

    Reformed - Gold

The commentary section does not show up when I do a passage search unless I select it under ADD (top right corner of the passage guide window).  The commentary list should be much bigger (it is on my laptop).  I would like the commentary section to always show up AND be at the top of the passage guide window.

"All Commentaries" is the default collection for the Commentaries section in Logos 6 and it appears at the top of the PG panel. What is the "All" collection shown in your screen shot?A more complete screen shot of the Guide would help (collapse all sections except for Commentaries).

If you enter type:commentary in Library do you see commentaries different to those in your screen shot; ones that should be shown for the passage you selected? What is the number shown?

As you can see in the screenshot, the commentaries section is located at the bottom of the panel.  I would like it to be at the top and stay there.  I know how to move it, but when I do a new search it either moves back to the bottom or turns off.

There should be 45 commentaries available for the selected text.  I checked this with my laptop that is working correctly with the same pacakge.  Currently, the new installation is only showing 10 in the passage guide but when I search my library for commentaries on the Gospel of Mark I get far more than is being displayed in the commentaries section of the passage guide.  Please note that my databse is still indexing and is at 13 percent (and taking forever).  I am not sure if that is related.  However, all resources were downloaded, as that is what was happening last night when I went to bed (about 10GB / 54 percent left when I went to bed).

Actually that's the reason for you seeing only a part of the commentaries (could as well be none). Searches work on the index, and if the index is incomplete, your results are as well. Let it finish the index, then look again.

If you're not done indexing, that is almost assuredly the issue with the missing commentaries.

Regarding the Passage Guide, you can customize the layout as you wish. If you make changes in the PG window, those changes won't save. But if you click on the PG icon in the window to get the dropdown menu, you can choose "Edit Guide Template", modify your PG layout, name the personalized PG and then any future use will remain the same.

Okay.  Thanks for all the patience in helping me.

One final question (well, okay, there will probably be more but I cannot think of anything at this point):  Does the first index usually take this long?  That is, a LONG time. Been running for about 6-7 hours now and is at 15 percent.

Yes, it takes a long time dependent on how big your library is. First time index is always the longest.
