Trying to install 6.8 beta 1 on Windows 8.1 results in the error indication below

If I recall, there were issues with installing .NET in the past (prior to 4.6), and some of the issues were corrected by installing .NET from an offline package. Here is the link to the offline package (if needed).

A reboot fixed it.

Yes, that is required, and often forgotten, especially if "Reboot later" is selected. [:)]
For any who experience a similar problem the same thing happened to me when updating to beta 2.
A restart (multiple) didn't resolve it, but installing .NET 4.6 from the link above did

This was also an issue with installing .NET 4.5.x with Logos.
The web installer (online) is more flexible as it downloads only the components needed.
