Had to re-load windows on my laptop as I had a hard drive fail (which i replaced with an ssd). Downloaded and re-installed Logos (latest production version) and am trying to use the scan command to copy the files off my thumb drive but don't seem to be getting any where.

Scan c:\pathtomyfiles\ is the command I'm using except with the actual file path.

After I use the command I restart Logos (wasn't there going to be a notification that a restart was neccesary?)

Logos comes back up normally but doesn't indicate that anything has happened. The title count in my library doesn't change either.

When the syntax of your scan-command is correct, you'll see it under Tools:

Otherwise there will be (possibly resources and) the Search section only.

That was there, it just didn't seem to make any difference in resource count.

yes, but I understood they are on your thumbdrive and not yet there (if all else fails you could try copying them), so you want to scan d:\ or such drive letter

indeed - actually I copied them off my thumbdrive and onto my SSD... But I digress.

I scanned the folder. No luck. Scanned the thumb drive with the same results.

can you activate logging (best: permanently, but starting Logos with ctrl held down is most convenient) and share the logos.log from the session?

did you remember to restart Logos after pressing enter on your scan path, seem to recall scan only works on startup

It is crashing now, but yeah, give me a couple minutes and I'll go generate a log. I wasn't sure if the logs included scan issues or not

As of the change that allows resources to be updated while the application is running, you no longer want to restart the application. Just wait. You will see the blue notification icon appear, and the resources will be discovered and added.

To restate my comment above... Restarting the application after issuing the scan command will prevent the scan command from working.

I think this is it exactly. I also think I corrupted a DB and thus the crashing.

My laptop charger is at a friends, and my battery died while I was eating dinner. I'll pick it up tomorrow and get some logs up if this suggestion doesn't work.

just typing from memory was all. I had the proper path.

ALSO 14,000 files, with only 200 books being recognized by logos (those that downloaded today) would seem to shoot your other theory in the foot as well.

I don't see it in the release notes. I've updated the documentation of the command on the wiki to indicate the need to not restart the application.
