Hi.
Just did a Bible Word Study for paroxusmos (Hebrews 10:24) and got a really interesting graph of where the hits are found:
It looks like a hit in Acts is somehow worth less than a hit in Hebrews!
Sure hope Logos isn't into some weird ideas about limited inspiration of some parts of the Bible. That could explain it. Nah!
[^o)]
It reflects the density of that term in the book; the length of the book is factored into the scale. The logic is that "word" appearing 100 times in Acts isn't as "interesting" asthe same "word" appearing 25 times in 2 John, where it represents a larger proportion of the text.
Think of it as graphing frequency per 1,000 words.
Ah. Now that makes sense.
It's certainly not intuitive though... Would you consider adding a legend or something similar? I was going to say tooltip, but then remembered that mousing over the various lines shows the number of hits in the tooltip.

Err... that is, mousing over the various lines in the graph shows the number of hits for that book in the tooltip.
I have just purchased Logos 4, and this seems to be a very useful tool - but there's nothing about it in the help menu (well, not when I search for "density graph")! It has taken me some time searching the forums to get information about it. Am I missing this information elsewhere (and if so, am I missing lots of other information)?
Nope.
Hi, Drew and welcome to the forum!
By and large, if you have a question or want to learn about the software, the Wiki site (top of page) is your best bet. Plus the videos listed on the wiki.
And if you have a really unusual question, searching the forum is your best bet, and then 'askinig'. Surprisingly, someone often knows the answer.
'Mysterious Dave' (the one from down-under) has answers that you have to wonder 'how'd he know that??'.

Hullo Drew. Please direct any questions to the appropriate Logos 4 forum (Windows or Mac) that you see listed here --> http://community.logos.com/forums/

That's because Dave has a direct fiber cable from the developers desk, and Logos Servers, straight to his brain. [:D]
Thanks to all for your kind welcome - the reason my question is posted in this forum is because this one dealt with the density graph, and I couldn't find this dealt with elsewhere. I have previously been "told off" in other forums for posting a new thread, when my question had been dealt with in other threads.
I've been checking out the wiki, and if I have other issues, I will post them appropriately.
Hi Drew
The reason there's a lot of 'get in the right forum' advice is that some people don't follow all the forums, and therefore would miss either the ability to answer your question, or benefit from learning about your problem (I benefitted here, re-seeing Bob's answer and the logic from earlier).
The other problem is that trying to get questions into the 'right' forum is hard to do, and not sound 'dictatorial'. A 'please' can be added, but even that sounds dictatorial. Some people add smiley faces in hopes of softening the request. I know in Dave's case, he's a definite softy.
In any event, I appreciate you bringing back the question for my own learning.

I wish!

Drew,
We often encourage people to post in a new thread to avoid confusion and to ensure that your problem/query receives proper attention. In this case the density graph and its explanation relate to the older Libronix/Logos 3 product which is not necessarily the same density graph that appears in your Logos 4 product. Then there is Logos4 on the Windows platform and on the Mac platform - three forums for three products with many similarities but many important differences. Hence my request to post in the "right" Forum.

Appears Logos 4 Windows has same Bible Word Study density graph in New Testament:
Plus LXX entries in Deuteronomy and Jeremiah (1 each); Deuteronomy appears bit bigger since book has fewer words (so one occurrence in Deuteronomy is more often than one occurrence in Jeremiah).
Keep Smiling [:)]
