New Tabs?

Being new to Logos, I'm still deep in my learning curve. One thing that I just can't get a hold on is new tabs. How do I know where a new tab will open up? If I hit search, I never know where the tab will open. The same goes for a link to a resource like a dictionary or commentary. I constantly find myself moving tabs around, mostly to keep my Bible always open and viewable. I've watched videos about layout setup.  I just can't see the consistency of where new tabs open.

One of the most complete descriptions I have seen of how this is designed to work is at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/103803/718546.aspx#718546

But please note that, in most cases, instead of just  opening a resource you can drag it to exactly where you want it.

So in the open resource dialogue in the command box, drag the resource to where you want it.

    Does that help?

    That never ends. Sorry.

If I hit search, I never know where the tab will open.

You can designate any tab to receive searches using the "Send searches here" selection in the panel menu.

I just can't see the consistency of where new tabs open.

Graham's link may help with this. The problem is, no matter which paradigm FL chooses about where to open new tabs, somebody is unhappy. So they picked a particular scheme and stuck with it.

I wish moving a lot of tabs around was the biggest problem with using Logos. [:O]  I've been using it for years, and I still can't master all the search techniques.

Why do I suddenly have, "Moon River" going  through my head?

One thing I recently learned is that you can also click and drag hyperlinks to wherever you want them to open.
