Why do we have to call it in for the Master Expansion? And are you saying we can't buy it now and have to wait 5 more hours?
Anyway, I picked up Dictionary of Scripture and Ethics for $15 and Logos' magazine for $5/yr.
Thanks

Can I ask why the ESV Study Bible is displaying on that list at what seems to be the usual price?
It's showing for me as £26.48 GBP £26.48 GBP
Not sure if that means a discount is coming but the reduced price hasn't been loaded in, or if it was listed by accident.

I, too, picked up the dictionary of S.&E. Other than that, the other deals are ok. It's been a good year, though, so can't complain

I am curious to look at this, but the limited preview is so limited it does not even show a single excerpt from a single article, which is odd. License restriction, maybe?

Green's book looks like a great resource, the aforementioned somewhat weak review notwithstanding. [:)]

Thank you. Amazon's preview includes a good number of complete articles and gave me enough information to make my decision.

I have been looking at getting this in print for some now. I've seen it on a number of sites for $15. Being that it is more useful to me in Logos than print, I pulled the trigger without hesitation. [y]

That's what I initially got too. Seems like one of the better deals this year.

Another set that I am considering is https://www.logos.com/product/54439/epea-aptera-unspoken-sermons by George Macdonald who was highly esteemed by C. S. Lewis. It is being offered for $9.99 but I'm a bit confused at the statement below that is on the product page. I don't have either the Feature Expansion or the Master Expansion. Does this mean that I will not be able to access these if I purchase them? Or does this simply mean that they are being offered separately from these collections for a period of time?

It looks like this is part of a community pricing package on McDonald that I did not know about. So I assume it is not available yet. For $24 you can get those books as well as 22 others of his works.

Thanks for that - I did have a big in for that already and had forgotten - glad I checked the forum before completing the Checkout ;-)

Only if it moves to production, if not then you will not have them at all. Added to which it is cheaper to buy at $10 if you plan on buying the larger collections containing these resources that are available as the dynamic price fall is greater than this discounted price.

Here is more on MacDonald & Lewis
It is available to download but would be cheaper on one of the packages including the CP.

Haha! That is funny because I bid on this resource in February 2014. It definitely has stalled out and who knows whether it will ever make it into production.

I wonder if the MacDonald CP volumes would gain a little momentum if smaller values were available to bidders. That seems to be the case when the peak of the graph is on the lowest available price. How do we request for that to happen?

On the Black Friday page it says this:
"Call in Specials
Connect with a resourse expert to hear about exclusive specials."
But when I called in (well, emailed in), the reply was that the special pricing is the same as what is displayed on the website (dynamic pricing). Maybe that is what the page wording should say?
ps minor spelling typo unless resourse is US english! (I am in UK)

I'm really sorry for the confusion, not sure how that happened. We do have exclusive call-in/email/skype discounts (on top of dynamic pricing) for:
- Master Expansion Collection (600+ vols.)
- Grammars Collection (94 vols.)
- Sermon Finder Collection (236 vols.) (17,600+ sermons)
- Systematic Theologies Collection (183 vols.)

Ah, maybe the salesman I spoke too didn't know the extra discounts. I was asking mainly about the Master Expansion Collection (although I asked about a couple of other resources too). I was told
"Your price for the Master Expansion Collection is probably the same as what you see online: $1362.28. "
That price is indeed just the normal dynamic pricing I've been seeing recently on the website. I sent the original enquiry to experts@logos.com.

"Jim Snowden: Ah, maybe the salesman I spoke too didn't know the extra discounts."
from past experience usually when they want you to call is just to generate sales and new leads for the reps. Discounts are usually just your dynamic price along with the phrase, "Sorry, that's the best we can do for you." Which is fine since I assume part of reps's paychecks come from commission sales.

I sent you an email with the information you requested. Feel free to give me a call or email and I will be glad to help.

I went a head and picked up this resource while it was on the Black Friday sale since I am not sure when the for collection will clear CP.

Thanks Jeremiah. I got the email. The call in price is less than the dynamic pricing so it is worth calling in for the exclusive pricing!

I considering picking up the Baker Commentary on the Old Testament Wisdom and Psalms while it is on a deep discount. Can anyone speak to the quality of the series?

I've used them in Psalms and found them good - in general, they seem to be highly spoken of

Goldingay: highly recommended.

This is a great sale, thanks. It's so good I wish I had been patient in prior items/sales (e.g. Jonathan Edwards).
I noticed that the Lexham Master Bundle didn't include the Lexham Methods Series (4 vols.). Was that by design or an oversight? That makes it slightly less masterish.
PS I've been seeing the same issue as others where some items I own are not grayed out. Seems to happen more at the bottom of the page.

Are you trying to buy an "extension" of you subscription? (I would do that).

Good question. My first thought upon seeing his query was why expect the discount to be applied to a purchase that was made before the discount became effective.

Can anyone give me a little more info on the Mobile Ed courses on Greek and Hebrew? Is there any denominational bias or would it appeal to anyone interested in furthering their knowledge of Greek and Hebrew?

I am sorry for the miscommunication, it looks like I forgot to remove the warning label when these resources were completed last week. You can purchase them and they'll download immediately. If you purchase them, you'll even get a dynamic price discount on the Community Pricing collection if it ships (it's at an awfully low price as you noted elsewhere, so there's no promise that it'll ever ship at that price. But maybe.). So you can feel safe bidding on the Community Pricing collection and purchasing this sermon collection as dynamic pricing will kick in.

I'm watching the Mobile Ed course videos right now. They appear fine to me--it's all linguistic studies and how to use Logos to do research in linguistics. There is very little interpretation or even interpretive assumptions being made (there may be bias in the resources chosen to discuss, but it's not theological bias, it's purely the top-used and cited language dictionaries available in Logos). However, the purpose and conclusions of the course material (as with any catechetical or pedagogical material) is that you'll take what you're learning in your personal studies in Logos to the classroom or pulpit (or wherever you teach). As such, there is an underlying assumption of what is important to take out of your Greek studies. I intend to keep using this Greek course in order to maintain what I lost in the past years since I graduated from college and haven't opened a Greek textbook... [:$] There are many sections on verb tenses and noun cases and voice that I intend to watch and re-watch.
Naturally, depending on one's perspective, there isn't something fail-safe to please everyone, and I'm not saying that this course is for everyone. The subject is Bible translation, after all. There are sections that discuss etymological fallacy, the one-meaning fallacy, and semantic anachronism, and can see how that might upset someone out there within such a sensitive subject area.

Read "Handbook of NT Exegesis" by Craig Bloomberg and Exegetical Fallacies by D.A. Carson and you should be fine. If you like videos and have the money go for the videos. If I had the money, I'd buy them, but I have too much on my plate that not even a payment plan is feasible at this time.
