Bug: New verse picker not working in the Concordance tool

The new verse picker isn't working well in the Concordance tool. It looks like the old one, but works like the new one, which is rather confusing. Because 'Save' was greyed out, I didn't realise what I'd typed in had actually been accepted.

This is a growing pain, for the moment. The new verse picker is still being worked on, and we need better non-Bible datatype support to implement it for Concordance and Reading Plans. Until that is done (no ETA at the moment) they will be using the old picker.

More specifically, the new verse picker hasn't been integrated into Concordance yet. What you're seeing is the exact same verse picker that was present in 6.7.

The picker is the same, but the behaviour is different (at least as far as I remember).

Note that when you type in a reference range with no title, the "Save" button is greyed out. That didn't used to be the case. You used to be able to save a range without entering a title, and the title would get added automatically. Note too that even without saving the range, I can still use my new custom range. That didn't used to be the case, either, as far as I remember.

It was the lack of a save button that confused me, but it's not a big deal.

Not true; I just tested it in 6.7 and you have to fill in a Title to save the range. Note that this is only true for Concordance; Bible Search (which is probably what you're remembering) did not require a Title.

Despite the visual similarities, these are actually different controls with slightly different behaviour (Reading Plans is another example); part of our work in this area is to unify them so they all look and act the same.

I didn't realise you were using different controls for these two areas, sorry. I'm looking forward to the new control being rolled out everywhere. It's much better than the old one, and consistency is always good.
