system narrator language

I tried using the narrator on a German Bible but the pronunciation was English. I tried changing the program language setting to German, it did not help. I am pretty sure, however, that system narrators exist in the many languages and certainly in German, French, Spanish, etc. Can't Logos match these to the appropriate resources? Or does it depend on the language setting of the OS?

Hi Francis:

It is dependent on the OS. I don't know about German voices, but since there are companies that offer very good synthesized voices, I think you would likely be satisfied with:

• Windows:   Ivona voices. They have 2 German voices. They sell through resellers. I have read (in this thread https://community.logos.com/forums/p/105782/769493.aspx ) that Harpo is a good vendor. Their site:  http://harposoftware.com/en/ . I have personally used Brian (Brit - very good voice) and Joey (Amer - good also). I have used a trial of Enrique (Esp); it sounded very good, but I don't speak Spanish, I just understand a little.
• Harpo-Ivona might work for Macs, also; I don't know.
• Mac:  The forum thread above has a recommendation from a user for Voice Dream (http://www.voicedream.com/reader/ ). They advertise German voices.
