I have been trying to setup a collection strictly for the "study bibles" in L6- anyone have a suggestion?
It looks like FL needs a separate TYPE for these- probably, just my guess "study bible."
Two suggestions from https://wiki.logos.com/Example_Collections
Graham have tried both they are full of non_SB items and just plain don't work.
"Bible Notes" is the Logos type for study bibles as defined by Logos.
Two suggestions from https://wiki.logos.com/Example_Collections Study Bibles Library Size: 2251 Collection Size: 5 Rule: title:”study Bible” Manually Included Items: The NET Bible (While not a Study Bible it is a well noted Bible so I added it. Your inclusion is, of course, your choice.) Manually Excluded Items: none Study Bibles Library Size: 9,564 edition:Logos Collection Size: 24 Rule: Title:(“Edition Notes”,Open,Study) Title:Bible -Type:(Concordance,Monograph) Manually Included Items: none Manually Excluded Items: none
Neither works well at all- to much non-SB items to deal with.

Tried this as well- brought 60 items- all kinds of resources.

This is funny! type:"bible notes" brings up non of my Study Bibles, although all of them say Bible Notes as Type in the library...
this works for me (my library is < 1000)
Title:("Edition Notes",Open,Study) Title:Bible -Type:(Concordance,Monograph)
then minused the image and infographic resources
Edit: I see this rule was already posted above
... collection strictly for the "study bibles" in L6- anyone have a suggestion?
Type:(Bible,"Bible Notes") Title:"Study Bible"
With Commentary in Type list, one more Study Bible appears
Type:(Bible,"Bible Notes",Commentary) Title:"Study Bible"
Bible Study + Teaching
(Subject:Bibl AND Subject:(Patriarchs,Reading,Reference,"Second Advent",Stud,Teaching)) OR Subject:"Small groups" OR Series:"Bible Study" OR (Edition:eBook AND Title:"Bible Study")
Keep Smiling [:)]
I found it easy enough to "tag-it-yourself" and then make a collection. I am picky about what I want to show up and have 17 resources--not too many to tag on my own.
I'd be interested in what it brought up that wasn't a Study Bible under the Logos definition ... they omit the Complete Word Study Bible as not being a true Study Bible and they exclude two that they treat as single volume commentaries: The Catholic Study Bible, The Jewish Study Bible, It seemed a bit odd at first that they consider text and translation notes on major ancient manuscripts as "study Bibles" but it is in keeping with the spirit of some Bible Notes especially for the NET Bible.
What are some of the problematic titles in your collection? i.e. are they miscoded or is your definition of study Bibles different than that of Logos?
I expect you didn't add quotes. type:bible notes is not the same as type:"bible notes". The latter is what you want, and should be fine, although personally I use type:"bible notes" -subject:("O.T.", "N.T.") -series:"numerical bible" just to fine-tune it slightly.
I was looking to isolate just "study bibles" as in ESV, MacArthur, NKJV, etc.
refined my rule to title:"study bible" type:"Bible Notes"
Now it finds all my Study Bibles and now there are no exclusions

Yes that works much better- narrows the resource down to basically- just study bibles, thanks.
A few resources which might be missed:
The Open Bible (which is type commentary)
The Spirit-Filled Life Bible (which is type Bible)
The Spirit-Filled Life Bible for Women (which is type Bible)

The Jewish Study Bible is also type Bible Commentary but you might want to include it.
I saw that, but the title:"Study Bible" should catch that.
There are also a number of one-volume Bible Commentaries that might fit well into a collection of Study Bibles - but that could be an individual call.
refined my rule to title:"study bible" type:"Bible Notes" Now it finds all my Study Bibles and now there are no exclusions
I settled for Type:("Bible Notes", commentary) "Study Bible" since some SBs are of type bible commentary (as others explained) and the text "Study Bible" might not be in the title, but elsewhere, such as in the series, the community tags or the resource description (re series: such as my two OT volumes of The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible)

This works better for me:
Type:("Bible Notes", commentary) "Study Bible" -author:barclay

So you don't like The Nelson Study Bible ? [;)]
the rule I use (and I don't remember where I got it from) nets 3 more results than the one from this thread (37 vs 34).Title:("Edition Notes",Open,Study) Title:Bible -Type:(Concordance,Monograph)They both seemed to find a handful of commentaries that I could exclude pretty readily.

You got it from the wiki (or the source for the wiki entry) - posted on page 1 of this thread - but back then there were much less types. I tend to see Infographics, Media Collections and such that belong to the FSB as false positives, same with the text of bibles such as NET and ESV Apocrypha, where the actual notes - meanwhile - exist in the type bible notes.
Using this rule I net 73 resources- a lot of momographs I would not consider SB material- but of course thats subjective on my part.

Did you type or paste the rule? Because it excludes type:monograph.
NB- copy and paste - double checked rule it was correctly done.
Typed it in got 38 resources, but not what I trying to accomplish- thanks for the suggestion.

Strange - I've just tried it and don't get any resources of type "monograph" - but our libraries will be different
Can you post a screenshot?

Hopefully see this better
you have a space between - (minus) and type:
Try removing the " " between "-" and "type"
I put typed this in "Title:("Edition Notes", Open,Study) Title:Bible -Type:(Concordance, Monograph)"- got 72 results- removing "" marks did not help.
Did this one by simply selecting and dragging:
Your screenshot doesn't show this.
Why is 72 results incorrect?

I would do it this way:
Type:("Bible Notes", commentary) "Study Bible" -author:"william barclay"
