Try removing the " " between "-" and "type"

I put typed this in "Title:("Edition Notes", Open,Study) Title:Bible -Type:(Concordance, Monograph)"- got 72 results- removing "" marks did not help.
Did this one by simply selecting and dragging:

I settled for Type:("Bible Notes", commentary) "Study Bible" since some SBs are of type bible commentary (as others explained) and the text "Study Bible" might not be in the title, but elsewhere, such as in the series, the community tags or the resource description (re series: such as my two OT volumes of The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible)
This works better for me:
Type:("Bible Notes", commentary) "Study Bible" -author:barclay
So you don't like The Nelson Study Bible ?
I would do it this way:
Type:("Bible Notes", commentary) "Study Bible" -author:"william barclay"
