Dataset Compatibility on Product Pages

I really wish Logos would include which datasets a given resource was coded to be used with on the product page of the resource. There have been countless times I've purchased a resource only to be disappointed that it did not work in the tool that I thought it would work in. There have also been a few situations where I was pleasantly surprised to find that a resource was coded for tools/datasets that I didn't think it would work in. In order to find out, before I purchase an item I end up having to post to the forums for feedback from customers who have already purchased it. Please Logos please put a list on each resources product page that indicates which tools/datasets it is coded to be compatible with.

I completely agree with you.

I understand that Faithlife have been working on a solution for some time. When it's finished, it will tie in data used in the Logos program with products on the website, so that we would be able to get much more information about all the resources available in different products. It's a long-term project because they're trying to build it in a way that will scale for the future, and enhance the store in all sorts of ways.

In the meantime, there is a workaround (of sorts). Logos' Feature Collections group together all the resources that work in the various tools, so if a resource is in one of those collections, then you can be confident it has the tagging you need.

For example, for sermons you can check the Sermon Finder Collection. You can see that it does include the Works of Stephen Charnock, but not volume 9 of John Owen (to use your example from another thread). You can do it the other way around, too. If you were on the The Complete Works of Stephen Charnock (5 vols.) page, you can see from the righthand column that those volumes are included in the Sermon Finder Collection.

Bear in mind that for multi-volume works that one volume might have tagging, and others not have tagging (because only one volume contains sermons). If you can, check individual volumes, rather than the whole set.
