Syntax search question - talking animals

I was recreating this search in Logos 6: https://blog.logos.com/2006/07/syntax_talking_animals_in_the/

It has a final form of

In rebuilding it in L6, I couldn't figure out how to get the "any descendent" part and am lacking the "distributive subject". My results are on occurrence less than the original. How do I fix it?

    You've done that with "Matching skips levels" on the Segment i.e. skips descendants

    It appears to have a grammatical meaning so could have been absorbed into Subject.  I've no idea about "Janus" subject-complement!

    Noticed blog results may have some false positives; created a syntax search that has nine results of animals "talking":
