The American Edition of Luther is a bit light on the Sermons of Luther. It has some good representative samples, but not the full Postils.

Yes, and no. Most of what is available in Community Pricing and not included in the AE 55 Vols, has now been incorporated into new volumes. Previously the Church Postils, sermons on portions of Matthew and John 17, as well as Luther's Prefaces were not available in the modern series. After a quick look at what is available on community pricing, it seems that what you find in Lenker's "The Precious and Sacred Writings of Martin Luther" and Cole's "Select Works of Martin Luther" are either included in the 55-volume or the newer 20-volume (projected) series. The one exception I may have found in C.P. is that of Preserved Smith's "The Letters of Martin Luther" (5 Vols). There are actually three volumes of Letters in the 55-volume series, and so you may find some correspondence provided only by Preserved Smith. However, the Introduction to Vol. 48 Letters I points out that Preserved Smith often just summarized the correspondence content and did not actually give the letter translation. Hope this helps.
