I just upgraded from the Scholar Pak to Platinum.
Now I cannot find ANY of my journals in the library. can someone help me to find them again?
I had Galaxies Vol 1-5, and a whole bunch of others and they are all gone..
Is it possible the software is still indexing from the large number of new resources you just acquired? If that is the case, let it complete the indexing process and check back with us.
Presumably Logos knew you had Scholar's in order to give you an appropriate discount on your upgrade to Platinum.
Did Logos know you had the Galaxie journals by your synchronizing of your Logos 3 licenses with the Logos Server using the same user ID as you used when installed Platinum ? If your licenses were synchronized then Logos 4 knows you should have the journals and all it has to do is find the files for them. Did you have the files for them on your hard drive for Logos 3 and keep them there until the installation and indexing was finished ? If not it should be trying to download them from the Logos servers. You may want to ensure you have the latest versions of the journal files from Galaxies server as Logos may not yet have all the latest ones available. Many have been updated since the Vol 1-5 CD was produced.
You can download the latest journal files from ftp://ftp.bible.org/galaxie/libronix/
I had the journals there AFTER the upgrade, for about one day. Now they are gone. Here is something esle strange. I have LOGOS 4 on both my laptop and my office desktop. The journals are on my desktop, but are absent from my laptop.

There was a problem with these journals that Logos finally recognised and they currently have pulled them off the L4 server until they can decide how best to handle the conflict with the files from Galaxie's server (that you would also get on a Galaxie CD). Logos have advised that you could scan the Galaxie files into L4, but I/me would leave things alone until there is a positive resolution (and i imagine you would need to watch the Forums for news).

I just installed the full set of Galaxie Journals into Logos for Mac 1.2.2 and both L4 Mac and Windows have downloaded and are now indexing. Perhaps, the problem has been fixed.
EDIT: The Mac version is actually getting this done faster than the Windows version. I don't know that that means, but it is interesting. [H]
How do I use the Scan command? I suspect my journal files are still on my hard drive.. because they were working oen day, and the next dsay, they were gone. In fact, I ahve three different comptuers with Logos 4 on them. Office desktop, Laptop and Home desktop. Each of them show a different number of resources in the library.
My office Dessktop shows 1471 resources. My laptop shows 1458, and my home desktop shows only 900 plus change. I suspect my Home desktop has not yet upgraded to Platinum, and when I force an update, I get the message that no updates are available..
Logos Telephone Support is very busy these days, so rather than sit on hold for 20 minutes, I hope I can get some help here.
How do I use the Scan command?
In the commandbox type:
scan <path to files>
e.g. scan c:\logos\logos4\files
For the situation you're describing, it sounds like you have some resources uncoppied and you have two options.
1) the low bandwidth option is the copy the resource directory to a thumbdrive/external harddrive (or network share) then use the scan command on other computers to find and copy them over.
2) the high bandwidth option is to type update resources in the commandbox and let Logos do it's thing.
Thanks for that info on how to scan..
My next problem is knowing which folder contains the files. My Logos executable is in the appdata folder.
There I have folders named data, documents, Install, system, shared, users
SO if I set it to scan a folder, will it scan all subfolders?
Secondly, I just bought another journal from Logos for $9.95.. I closed logos and rebooted, as per directions, and not the new resource I bought doesn't show up either.. something is not right.. I am on hold, waiting for a level 2 tech. First level couldn't help. Didn't know anything about the problem on the L4 server referred to by the MPV above. This is my first serious problme with Logos.
Scan ...\Logos4\Data\{random}\ResourceManager\Resources
As it will scan sub-folders you could use ...\Logos4\Data\

I still don't have resolution to my problem. I spent a lot of timetalking to support. Got to 2nd tier support. They tried.
I now have a better idea of my problem. Let me explain step by step.
At my office, I had started out with Libronix. While withLibronix, I bought a CD from Galaxie which gave me journals from BibSac, Jets, Masters, etc. I upgraded to Logos 3. Everything stayed.
I did exactly the same thing to my 2 computers at home, my laptopand desktop. So far so good.
Then I installed Logos 4 on my office desktop. (Vista OS).Everything migrated. Because I still had Logos 3 on the system.
After I saw that everything had migrated, I uninstalled Logos 3.No problems so far.
At home, I purchased two new computers; a laptop and a desktop. Both win 7 OS.
Logos 4 downloaded fine on my new computers, but the journals didnot come down. I suspect because this was a brand new install, and mynew computes did not have either Libronix or Logos 3 on them.
Support at Logos told me to copy the Journal file onto a memorystick and paste it into my Resource folders at home. I did that andscanned for new resources, and it didn't work.
I found an old Libronix disk and tried to install it. It won'tinstall on a Win 7 machine. Actually it did install, but won't runbecause ir is missing the icuin36.dll
I search for that dll on the web, download it, install it in mysystem folder, but it still won;t work. I am stuck there.
I do have my Logos 3 disks yet. If I install those, do you supposethe Logos server will hten recognize that these computers arelicensed for that particular file to download?
Well I can't hold any hope that putting Logos 3 on your new computers will solve anyhting. I wonder if in talking to Logos Support you ever found out if your license file on their server had the Galaxie journals on it? Also did they check to see if by some chance you have two user profiles in their system?
I ask this because this is not a Logos 3 issue but seems to be a licensing issue. I can't understand why one computer can find your license and allow you to have the journals and another one cannot, unless you are using two different Logos accounts to log on.
You can install Logos 3 directly from the Internet. Go here:

I am sure you know this - but just in case, after you re-laod Libronix 3 make sure you synchronize its licenses.
From your description, I don't think this is your problem, but I will add it to the mix just in case. When I purchased Bible & Spade, I needed to install L3 in order to access the resources. I synchronized licenses, but L4 did not download the journals. After flailing around for a couple of days and even posting a thread in this forum, I discovered that i had forgotten to activate L3. Once I did that, everything worked as designed.
Still no resolution! I am beginning to get a wee bit frustrated. Paid a lot of money for those Journals.
Talked to techs again today. After 45 minutes of a remote connection, a supervisor told the tech, This is not Logos' problem. I have to call Galaxie for support, cuz I bought it off of them.
This, after being on hold for numerous calls to tech support.
I think the support folks should be getting bulletins on known issues so that they are all singing off the same page. They could have saved me days.. by telling me this to start with.
Now I suppose I have to call Galaxie.
Well, we can call off the firetrucks. I called Galaxie, I decided to purchase Vols 1-10, at a 50% discount because he had on record that I had already bought Vol 1-5. So all he did was indicate to the logos server that I had the licence, it was all installed and I am good to go.But he indicated surprise that Logos said it was his problem.
