Logos 6 - Remove Duplicate Notes Command No Longer Works

I have to admit I had more of a problem with duplicate notes in ver 4 and 5 than I do in 6. However, I have some and I cannot use the old command "remove duplicate notes." I now have to it manually. It appears the old command was removed from Logos v 6. Is there a way to remove all duplicate notes without manually doing each one?

That command was added to remove a particular class of duplicate notes caused by a sync bug. We removed it once it had been over a year since the sync bug was fixed, and all affected users should already be fixed. (Additionally, it was never a command that should need to be run more than once.)

How are you ending up with new duplicate notes in Logos 6?

I had two notes today that were duplicates found in Matthew chapter 8:17. I am not stating I have a plethora of these things, but I did find this one. So I issued the old command which of course just sent me to a search. I removed the duplicate manually.

How am I arriving at duplicates? I don't how I could answer that question intelligently. I did not duplicate them yet this one was there.

I see another one while perusing notes for Luke 15:6 written October 23, 2010. I suppose I could just go through and find all them and delete them manually but I would assume if the command was removed from Logos 6 then you must have a better way - automatically dealing with duplicates.

If there's a bug that's creating duplicate notes, we'd like to fix it (so the problem no longer occurs).

We became aware of a bug (several years ago) that had created hundreds or thousands of duplicate notes for a number of customers. Due to the scale of the problem, we decided that adding a custom command to repair the damage (once we had fixed the bug) was the best way to proceed.

The command was tailored precisely to the nature of that bug, as we did not wish to mistakenly remove a note that wasn't an exact duplicate. It's possible that these duplicates you're finding are left over from that bug and the "remove duplicate notes" command erred on the side of caution and didn't remove these almost-but-not-quite-identical notes when you ran it several years ago. (Even an extra space, though visually indiscernible, would have cause "remove duplicate notes" to leave both notes in place, to avoid potential data loss.)

I understand. I used to have many dups - even 4 or 5 on the very same note and the command seemed to work. Perhaps I didn't clear all when I upgraded an iteration or two back. It is not problem for me to delete them as I see them.
