Creating a project

I am searching for a way to create a project, label it, and be able to revisit it at a later time with all resources I previously used. For example, I am working through teaching 1 John. I want to break my studies down into smaller projects as I teach through the book. However, I want to be able to go back to 1 John 1:1-4, for example, and see the resources I used for that passage, my notes and highlights, without having to go back through the passage guide. I am on Mac platform.

Any help would be amazing.

This is a long standing complaint of mine. I hope FL works diligently towards the concept of "projects."

I wonder if the word "towards" might be key here. FaithLife seems better at incrementally improving what they have than in creating new features out of whole cloth. Instead of asking for "projects" as a new thing, perhaps we should be asking for specific incremental improvements to "layouts" that would allow us to do at least some of the things we want projects to support. After all, what do we care what they're called as long as they do what we need?

1. My impression is projects go across platforms. I don't know I'd need that; others might.

2. Since in layouts, the 'Back' button(s) isn't global (restoring a previous state), layouts are bacically a manual state-save. Almost. Even the history isn't state-remember.

3. .... I'm at a loss. But that's ok. I just wonder, if the idea would be great, if more contrast.

Layouts are for particular tasks (I want this lexicon, this Bible and this dictionary). Projects are for seeing something through to completion (I want two commentaries open to Isaiah 2, a Bible open to Isaiah 2, my notes document for that place -).

As an incremental improvement, particular instances of layouts would be helpful. I could open my Projects Pane, and select a directory called November 8, under which I could have several layouts, using the normal layouts as templates.

Layouts are for particular tasks (I want this lexicon, this Bible and this dictionary). Projects are for seeing something through to completion (I want two commentaries open to Isaiah 2, a Bible open to Isaiah 2, my notes document for that place -).

i don't get it either, to me what you have just described is simply two different layouts. I see nothing in your second description that is not achieveanke by using a layout.

Keep trying to explain it, I would like to understand what you are saying is differevt between a layout and project.

A Project would define a specific 'layout' of tiles together with rules governing which books (or type's), Guides, Documents, Tools (or category) can be opened within each tile. All other resources would depend on Logos' random/default method of placement. If it was a Sermon Preparation project, I would save layouts (named layouts) for different occasions.

Ok, so a project simply pre-defines the nature of what a user wants in a tile (which Logos currently hints at, with system tools). There's got to be something more ... Alabama would give up a Tide game for 'projects'.

Thanks for trying Dave but still not seeing what is different to setting up and saving your own layout. I'm just not catching the vision but despite that do respect it it important to those who do have the vision so hope it does come to fruition for you all.
