When I'm viewing a Bible passage in KJV and hit the new tab button I'm constantly getting the image below. As you can see I'm missing a ton of resources??
If I recall the explanation of this feature properly, Logos is 'guessing' a similar type of resource you might want to open in the tab, based on the resources already open in that pane.
Here is what it should look like when it works correctly which is seldom.
OK, so it's not that you aren't seeing ALL your resources, it's that you aren't seeing all the resources you should be seeing.
That problem is above my pay grade. You'll have to wait for somebody with a gold star to help with that one.
What is offered is context sensitive. Your results look normal for me given that I don't know what your history and tile contain.
The context of both images were the same - The focus is on the tab displaying The KJ Bible open to Genesis 1:14 and then selecting new tab.
The focus of your first image is the resource; the focus of the second is a particular passage. Different focus gives different results - focus indicated by the title of the right side panel. I'll play with it a bit but I still don't see the problem.
Okay ... I can't find the precise pattern that controls what appears on the two sides of the new panel. You are probably correct that something is wrong because it should be predictable.
Thanks for the help. I can't find a pattern of when the new tab displays correctly and when it does not. All I know is that a lot of the time when I have the KJV open with a focus on a specific passage in the KJV tab, hitting the new tab button only brings up the first image. Interestingly, if I go back to the KJV tab and hit the right arrow to bring up the next resource (ESV in this case) and then go back to the KJV (left arrow) the new tab always brings up all the correct resources (image 2).
I was trying to reproduce this in house, but I was unable to get the same results. Would you be able to send a screencast of the bug? If you don't already have a program to do screencasts with, Jing is a popular one. I'm hoping that seeing what you are doing will help us get to the bottom of it.
I have had the same thing happen to me (also with the KJV1900). But it's random.
When it's happened, I get the new tab with the same two resources that Lankford's screenshot shows. Closing and trying again produced the same results. Then, after clicking on the parallel resource icon, changing to another version, then changing back to KJV1900, it will start working again.
I will try to get a screencast when it happens again, but, it's random (so far, to me).
Steve, I couldn't figure out the pattern but a big clue is the title of the right column. Every time it showed a reference I got correct results; when it did not show a reference I got incorrect results ... or at least that's what it looked like when I was testing.
If I highlight the Bible text or click on the reference first I get results based on the Bible reference. Otherwise I get results based on resource in general. Not sure if this is how it was designed to function, however.
I think that is how it should work.
Here is a screencast showing the problem.

It looks like this might be triggered by a Bible Word Study. Here is a screencast showing how a BWS recreates the problem.

Can anyone confirm that this bug is repeatable with the Bible study?
