I am considering purchasing a Logos package and wondering how it will run on a MacBook with 8gb of RAM and 256gb of storage. I am brand new to Logos so not sure what to expect from load times and general usability on this machine. Thanks!
I have found the most satisfactory results are obtained with a solid state disk (SSD) which most new Macs have. If your 256gb is SSD you should not have any problems with Logos.
Hi Tom, welcome to the forums!
Are you talking about the new 2015 Macbook (not the Macbook Pro)? If you are, here's a previous discussion: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/101979/713643.aspx
If you mean any Macbook Pro or Air, you'll find the new ones all run Logos just fine. Just buy as machine as you can afford, because you can't upgrade the RAM, CPU, or SSD after you get it.
8 GB RAM should work fine for Logos. You can expect Logos to take about 15-40 GB of space on your drive, depending on how many resources you have.
I have the 2015 12" Macbook, base version. Logos runs very acceptably. The only things I have noticed are that it takes 25 seconds or so to boot Logos and the scrolling in the windows isn't quite as quick as say scrolling in a Safari browser window. It's not slow, just a little slower than it may be in other applications.
