Bible based subject searches

Is there a way to do a bible search when you are looking for verses based on a topic?

For example, what does the bible say about staying positive? Or what doe the bible say about "gambling or playing the lottery?" Just as an example. Can logos do subject searches that will give scriptural references?

    Not a search (which is looking to find matches based on text). What you need is to use the topic guide (under "guide" menu). NOTE: the results of the guide will be more or less successful based on how well resources are tagged and what resources you have in your library.

    Logos' Topic Guide is unlikely to help you with these very contemporary questions. It's much better on topics that are actually in the Bible.

    I would encourage you to look at your Bible Concordances (filter your library with type:concordance), and search just those resources for the things you're looking for. Or, if you want one resource, the Collins Thesaurus of the Bible is usually very good. It's in lots of the bigger base packages.

    You can use it's List of Categories to find concepts that are quite broad (like staying positive), or go to the subject index (or search) for something specific like 'gambling'.

    Thank you Kevin for your question and thanks to the responders.

    The screen pics by Keep Smiling 4 Jesus are especially hands-on.

    I have been wondering how I could do searches on contemporary topics too.

    And now I actually got similar results when I tried the various tools shown in the screen pics.
