Crash: Logos cannot update

Logos 6 (Mac) says an update is available. Whenever I click the update link, the update tool opens, and tells me to click to extract the update. After doing so, it says the update could not be installed, and everything freezes. Problem repeats after restarting the OS (El Cap.).

The error message is:

LogosInstaller[706:74385] Sparkle Error: An error occurred while installing the update. Please try again later.
LogosInstaller[706:74385] Sparkle Error (continued): Couldn't copy /var/folders/1y/h0dd9dqx7cs1skt2ptbq0srh0000gn/T/Logos Bible Software 6 61610.0.24 Update 3/F7A90670-C126-43CF-8E1F-00AA119E9797/Logos.app to /Applications/Logos Bible Software 7.app.

Someone with Mac skills should be able to diagnose this.

For clarification: are you trying to update from within the application, from outside the application (manual install), or both? If you haven't tried a manual install, do so (see links in my signature line)
