Does reftagger work in Mailchimp direct emails?

Hey there.

Is this compatible with Mailchimp? I'm wondering for a couple reasons.

(1) If we send updates/newsletters/etc. to our email lists through mailchimp, would reftagger work on those?

(2) We have an RSS feed for our blog set up through mailchimp as well for people to be able to subscribe to our blog. So whenever we post a blog post, it will automatically email them our new post. Will reftagger work in those emails that are sending through mailchimp, since it is pulling content straight from our blog?

If not, is that possible? for reftagger to work in the emails we send to our community?

thanks, God bless.

Hi Barrett, and welcome to the forums. Reftagger uses Javascript, and the last time I checked Mailchimp strips out Javascript from emails, so no, it won't work. The reason they give for this is that most email clients prevent Javascript from running for a variety of reasons, so in order to give a consistent experience they strip it out. This might have changed, so you could always try it, but you'd need to embed the Reftagger code in the HTML of your email (which you can do on Mailchimp by clicking on the "<>" image in the toolbar of the editor). If it does work, I suggest you also test it in a number of email clients.

You'd also need to embed it in your template if it does work so that you don't have to think about it any further.
