Highlighting and Visual Filters

Hi folks,

Trying to figure out how to use highlights in Logos, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this:

I want to highlight various themes in books.  For example, in Colossians I want to highlight all the Names/Pronouns referring to Christ.  I also want to highlight (in a different color and style) the problems they are told to watch out for (persuasive argument in 2:4; philosophy and empty deception in 2:8, etc.).  I can highlight these things just fine, but what I don't know how to do is save them in such a way that I can turn each different theme ON and OFF using the "Visual Filters" button.

One day I might have 10-15 different themes highlighted in different ways in a given book, and it will be way too cluttered to see  everything at once.  I want to be able to turn on one theme at a time.

I am sure this has to do with saving it to note files in a certain way.  Thanks for any help!

To do what you want will require everything to be segregated into the folders that you want to be able to INDEPENDENTLY turn on/off... So deciding what you want control over would be the first step. It sounds like having 100 different switches in a given bible would be no big deal for you... Is that right? In any case, making that decision must come first. 

Once you make that decision, you will need to decide one of there ways to get the notes into the right folders... Else all your work will be for nothing. Your choices:

1. Manually direct notes into the right folder by changing each highlighter pallet to send notes to the "last used" note document. With this setting, you will need to either open or bring forward the appropriate note document BEFORE making the highlight. 
2. Create specific pallets for EACH and EVERY note document. Name the pallets what you want the documents to be named and they will automatically be created with that name. NOTE: this is per pallet, NOT per style. If you use the same style for various document categories, you will not be able to share shortcut keys. 
3. Create a "holding pot" document, send all highlights to this document automatically, then manually move highlights to the right document when you have the time.

I despise #2, but that may work best for you.
