BUG in actual usage although I'm sure it looked good in design ... BSL/Cultural Concepts

Because of some inconsistencies in the definition of Factbook entities, I went to compare the Cultural Concepts ontology with the BSL ...Yes, I understand that the two derive from two quite separate initiatives - one computational linguistics, the other more knowledge base oriented although a bit old to apply knowledgebase ontology to it. How, that's not the problem:

1. From the cultural concepts section before I note a hierarchy Abstract --> Event --> Creation

2. Being the organized sort, I then want to check how the hierarchy fits into the BSL hierarchy. BUG: The problem is that although there is space on the screen, there is a maximum at which the BSL will no longer expand a branch. So I cannot display the entire hierarchy on a single page. However, then I hit another problem, I cannot create a second window of the BSL so that I can see the full hierarchy in multiple panes. I hope someone will have a trick to get the second occurrence that I didn't think of.

Net result - although its a pain to prove, the BSL has a very similar hierarchy but with several added levels.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I agree with you on all points as far as the UI goes. The editorial issues (implied?) would be for Sean.

In some version of the future, I expect that we'll reorganize the BSL to be more like Factbook, that is, less about the (awkward) visualization of the hierarchy and more about the (potentially more useful) data crammed into the left sidebar, which could be extended if it had some room to breathe. Then the visualization would be an interactive that would be linked to from the new BSL. And a better, more readable visualization would be welcome, too.

Just a dream at this point. I haven't even begun to draw it up.
