I want to search for a particular Greek word to see any place its referenced in my 1731 resources. What's the best way to do this in L4/Mac? -Is this ability implemented yet in the current alpha?
I
If I understand your question correctly, the answer is yes. The best way? Put your greek word in the search tab and choose "entire library"
Yes, I tried that but it didn't work:
This is in spite of the fact that at minimum I should get hits on the three times it shows up in the NT (Matt 26:37; Mark 14:33; Phil 2:26) and its entry in BDAG which I can find manually (the local search for BDAG didn't work either):
By the way, I tried putting a "g:" before the library search as well and it did not give me any different results.
I ran the search on the infinitive ἀδημονεῖν and this is what I found in Scholars Platinum plus SESB and additional stuff. I know you can't see all the results from the search but you can see that I ran a Basic search in my Entire Library and found 138 results. (The g: TERM search only seems to work with transliteration not with Greek orthography.) I think this kind of search will only work properly once the Morph search is implemented.
I ran the same infinitive search through my titles (Platinum +) and got 123 library results. Of course this is not altogether helpful. No lexicons were in my results, for instance, and I'd hate to have to do a separate search for ever inflected form simply to see all hits with my resources.
And I still think it's odd that a search of the lexical form that I initially did failed to result in any lexicon hits.
There are currently some open bugs with Greek case folding. Once fixed, they should remedy this issue. They are on my to-do list.
