Whenever one accesses the library window (either by clicking the icon or keystroking command-L) it seems to me that the search box ought to be active with an insertion point already in place by default. There's no need to have to click there with the mouse to search for a title, thus removing one's hands from the keyboard. I can see no benefit to not having the box already active by default. And if there is a good reason, then hitting the tab key ought to take on to the box, but as of right now, it doesn't.
