Vocabulary Lists

Hi, so I just downloaded and installed Logos 6, the Biblical Languages package, for my Macbook. I was reading about how you can create vocabulary lists through something called Libronix. Can someone walk me through how to do this? I downloaded the premade vocabulary lists, but I don't know how to open them. Thank you!

Welcome to the forums Ray. I think you are going to love Logos 6.

Vocabulary lists can be created through the feature called "Word Lists" which can be found under "Documents".

In your library you will find Logos 6 Help and there is a good section about creating "Word Lists". It will explain how to use this feature.

I know how to create lists from Bible passages, but what I am asking is how to import the lists from the premade files? For example, I downloaded the file "Basics of Biblical Hebrew.lbxvl" from the Logos website from their premade lists, but I don't know how to import it into the program. Thank you!

The amazing this is that when you download previously created lists that they will automatically show up in Logos under "documents".

Yes, I have checked out this page already. As I described in my original post, it requires a program called Libronix, which I am not familiar with. I would like to use the vocabulary list on Logos.

Libronix is an older name for Logos' software. They are basically one and the same.

Then to my original question, I still don't know how to import the .lbxupd file into the Logos software. The instructions on the page refer to Libronix, and so the instructions are outdated.

I remember being confused about how this worked when I first started using it. If you downloaded the vocabulary file to your computer it should already be in your Logos 6 copy when you open it. Click on documents, then Word List and it should be there. Check to see if it is.

Those are very old instructions, and I would recommend ignoring them (as it'll be a lot of work to get it working and there's a simpler way).

For Logos 6, join one of these Faithlife groups: https://faithlife.com/introductory-grammar-vocabulary-lists/ https://faithlife.com/word-lists-for-flashcards/

Click the Documents tab, then next to any document, click Actions > Copy to take a private copy that'll automatically sync to your Logos 6. (You can also do this through the "Groups" tool inside Logos 6 once you've joined the group.)

Glad it finally worked for you Ray. I would encourage you to be sure to budget your Logos time to include time of the forums. Even though I've been a Logos user for years I learn (and relearn) new things all the time.
