Has anyone run into a problem searching journals? My search function completely ignores two different journals I've purchased. Is there something obvious I'm missing?
Thanks
It might be helpful to have more specifics, including screen shots. Is this about L6 or one of the mobile apps? This thread may be moved to the appropriate forum so that you can get the best help possible.
No problem. I'm running L6 on a high end Macbook Pro with latest OS. The problem itself is straight forward. When I search under all resources or even specifically journals nothing comes up from my two journal series. It's like I don't own them. Thanks
It's like I don't own them.
Some thoughts from your screen shots:
Thanks for taking the time to try and help...
1. Nothing. or same thing if you like. 0 results
2. Yes. I just took a sample shot of some of the journals.
3. No. Selected it. Same thing. 0 results
4. Yes, I realize it's a guide. I was just giving another example of how L6 is not recognizing the data. I'm not an expert so I won't dispute your claim. However, if that's true why is it pulling data from every other set - lexicons, commentaries, etc. when I haven't tagged them either? I'm guessing "tags" were added to L6 because I don't recall it in L though I may have just missed it then as well. Anyway I'll happily tag them and try.
I changed search query from Title, to Heading/Largetext and got several hits...
Do you own the journals listed in my screen shot of the results i got?
Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't seem to be working for me.
If you have a fast computer/drive you may consider typing "Rebuild Index" into the command box, It seems your index is corrupted or something. Although Alabama24 may have another suggestion to try first.
Sorry. No. Just ETS and Biblical Counseling. Here's a shot of a generic guide on John which surely would get some results. Again zero hits.

Surprisingly, I got zero hits on that search as well for those two journals, so unfortunately, that's not a good test. :-)
Thanks for the continued help. Here's where I'm at:
1. I tried a dozen different books of the Bible in the Guide. I didn't get any hits. Surely I would get something...?
2. I typed "Rebuild Index" in the command box and it did a search for that... I must be missing something. I have the latest and greatest Macbook so it should be fast enough.
If you have any specific tips on the rebuild index I'll try it.
Thanks!
I took off the quotes and got it to start reindexing. I'll keep you posted
I must be missing something.
Just to be sure you know where the command box is...
After you type it, a dropdown will appear just beneath it, and you need to click that first option "Rebuild Index". then just wait, and it will take probably an hour or so, depending on your computer specs and library size
got it to start reindexing
Good, that should fix everything :-)

You aren't understanding what I mean by "tagging." I am not referring to anything that YOU do. I am referring to something that FAITHLIFE does.
A "guide" isn't the same thing as a "search," but you are viewing it as such. When you do a search, ONLY matches on words will come back. If you search for "family," you won't receive hits on marriage, parenting, divorce, etc. unless the WORD "family" is in that resource.
A guide, however, is different. You can run a guide on "family" and get hits for marriage, parenting, divorce etc. when Faithlife has "tagged" the resource as "family."
I don't know what should be expected when you run a guide the way that you are doing. I will experiment a bit, but my installation seems to be crashing on me at the moment. [:S]
Thanks for clearing up some of the confusion. I thought you were referring to "my tags" under the library.
Yes, I understand the difference. I don't think I am explaining myself well here. Again, I was just illustrating the problem from a different angle. In the Guide I was using scripture references. The journal section of my custom guide shows no results for basically any book of the Bible much less a specific reference. So, regardless of the issue - Search or Guide - the program doesn't seem to be picking up anything from my journals.
38% complete and going for rebuilding the index ...
Thanks soooo much! Problem fixed! Rebuild Index was the trick. Both Search and Guide are picking up data from journals now. You're a blessing.
