When I use the "AND" command I get hits with one word or the other or both. Is there a way to get only the entire clause? I've tried putting it in quotes to no avail.
Well, the quotes are working now...sorry about that.
I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do with the quotes. To search for articles containing two searchterms, use searchterm1 AND searchterm2. AND needs to be all capitals. If you search for searchterm1 "AND" searchterm2, you are actually searching for three terms: searchterm1, searchterm2, and the word and.
Steve,
I'm glad it is working for you [:)]. There are other search options as well. You can do BEFORE, WITHIN, and AFTER. See http://wiki.logos.com/Search_HELP for a great overview on all the different search syntax options.

Gary,
I think what he meant was he was looking for a phrase. For example, "Jesus Christ". Searching for Jesus AND Christ yielded results with Jesus and Christ in the same verses, but he just wanted places with "Jesus Christ". By searching with quotes then, he meant putting quotes around the search terms ("Jesus Christ") not around AND.

Ok. That would make more sense. Thanks for clarifying.
you got it on the quotes, David. It's working for me. In other words if I want multiple words in a clause and only that putting quotes around the phrase will yield the result.
