Will my Pre-Pub Ever Come Back?

There’s been a lot of speculation about this question on multiple threads.

With the exception of individual titles that were on Pre-Pub, the exact Pre-Pub products that were canceled will never come back.

However, the books that made up those products may, at some point, come back in a different product offering.

In this process, our goal is to optimize Pre-Pub and push products through more quickly. To achieve that goal we reduced the number of Pre-Pub product offerings. Once optimized, products will move through the system more quickly and, in turn, new products will be added. So it is possible that this will involve some of the books from the recently canceled Pre-Pubs returning.

Even though I've been retired for some time, I'm willing to bet I'll see some of the individual titles come back within my lifetime as the market shifts. Does that make me a cantankerous old fogey who's learned "never say never"? [:#]

Seriously, thanks for the clarification. It is helpful.

I sincerely hope some of these Hebrew products come back. Losing PBI and De Gruyter is a great disappointment--I have been budgeting for these, even putting that budget ahead of other items on my wishlist. Logos is the only way that I can obtain language materials in a format that I can access with a screen reader.

Will my prepub ever come back? It might, you just don't know it ;)

For me, a lack of clear commitment from Logos for my specific cancelled prepubs means it is probably not worth waiting for them to be repackaged and then go through the long process of gathering interest, under development, possible cancellation again, etc etc.

I had a look for some of my cancelled ones outside Logos and was surprised to see that they are readily available from other bible software vendors (not in prepub, couple of them have been available for years in other products, and for less cost).

I still think that instead of the precipitous cancellation of PrePubs as we have just seen (and all of the associated weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth), FL would do better to clean house by placing low-interest products into a last-chance-before-they-disappear-second-tier category that would last for a few weeks or months.  I suspect many customers saw titles get chopped that they didn't even realize were available.  Given a second chance along with some alerts/advertising/rah-rahs by the forum faithful, at least a few titles might find life.

Instead of Artificial Intelligence, I prefer to continue to rely on Divine Intelligence instructing my Natural Dullness (Ps 32:8, John 16:13a)
