It would be very nice for me to be able to set a particular open pane or a resource such that, when I open another resource (and now have several open), the newly opened resource is guaranteed not to open on that pane.
As an example of when this would be helpful, let us suppose that I am studying a monograph and have it occupying the left half of my monitor, and have a couple clippings documents and maybe a Bible in different tabs of a pane occupying the right half of my monitor. If the monograph includes a link to another book of mine or I decide to open another book using the command bar, I almost always want it to open on the right side of my screen, but that's not what happens. I want to be able to change that default behaviour on a case-by-case basis, ideally with a couple clicks.
Does this make sense to other people too? Would other people use this ability if it existed? Would it solve any of your problems?
I run into variations of this problem very frequently, but this thread was inspired by something MJ suggested.
