Usually when looking at the interlinear, one can see why the highlighting of the English is less than perfect. For example, here the "him" at the end of the line has no Hebrew equivalent aligned with it. But why does the first word "have" which does have an aligned Hebrew word not get highlighted? Bug?

This is purely a function of each individual translation alignment. The LEB and ESV alignments are slightly different, and reflect this particular instance differently.

So you're really reporting an instance of a different thing, achieving some sort of "consistency" between alignments. That's a much tougher nut, but something we've been thinking about different ways to crack. No easy solution, but it's on our radar.
