I was hoping to be able to write a journal in my Logos 6 program.

Logos 6 isn't really focused on writing journals - any particular reason you were trying to do it here as opposed to something like a Word Processor?

And could be worth looking at some of the dictation products that are available to help reducing typing

People who journal within Logos generally use a Note file and the Add Note feature
