I created a visual filter dealing with church polity, and included all the expected words, such as ἐπίσκοπος, ποιμήν, ποιμαίνω, πρεσβύτερος, διάκονος, bishop*, overseer, elder, deacon, etc. But it would not perform correctly. I spent over an hour trying to figure it out. Then I realized I have added an extra space between the word "overseer" and the following asterisk (see attached image, 3rd line). As such, no other filters below that would work. Once I fixed the error, it worked fine. I just hate that it took me sooooo long to figure it out, so I thought I'd give others a heads up in case they find one day that there VFs are not working properly.
One would think that only the one filter (or lookup, or whatever the name is for each individual unit) with the error would not work, but in actuality, NONE following that one worked. I get frustrated myself when people here in the forums refer to things that don't perform like they expect them to as a "bug" (which happens often in the forums,
,) so I will refrain from using said term.
I don't think it's a bug, but I do wonder if it's something anyone else has ever encountered, and if this is the expected behavior of the VF functionality?
Thanks wise Logos scholars. As usual, your wisdom is greatly appreciated! Im so thankful for these forums. I learn so much!!
