Suggestion: Multiple Preferred Bibles

I like that Logos offers us a "default" preferred Bible option that we can each designate as our primary Bible.  But I would like the option for multiple preferred Bibles for different situations.  For example, if I'm studying the Bible for expository sermon preparation, I want something as close to the original language as possible (something like the NASB or ESV).  But if I'm doing my daily devotions, I want something that reads well in English (like the Message or NLT).

So would it be possible to have an extra option of a different preferred Bible for say our Reading Plan or specific Guide (like Topical Guides or Sermon Starter Guides)?  I know some people may not want the option and just prefer one default for all uses (but I also know if would be nice to have the option, too).

I second that! It would be nice if we could designate/connect certain versions to certain types of resources.

I would suggest that you attach your preferred Bible(s) to a layout of your choice, for example Devotional Reading.

My suggestion is that Logos adds this: open more than 1 layout at the same time. This is badly needed functionality.

And what I find extremely helpful is adding your preferred Bibles to a collection (be sure to click Add to parallel resources), so that you can quickly go to a another Bible using the // option.

  • It would be nice if we could designate/connect certain versions to certain types of resources.

Logos wiki => Prioritizing includes Advanced Prioritization that allows resources to be prioritized for certain types of resources.  For example, Lexham Discourse Bible can be prioritized for Lexham Discourse Hebrew Bible (LDHB) so clicking a verse in LDHB jumps to LDHB for OT and Lexham Discourse Greek New Testament for NT.  Bibles can be prioritized for verse links in specific resources, including calendar devotional.

Also can prioritize a commentary for Bible links.  Personally have United Bible Societies (UBS) Handbooks in my Top five Bibles so right click menu with reference selection includes UBS Handbook in Top Bibles.
